Continucare Makes an Impact on Children Worldwide this Holiday Season
Looking to give back to our community and beyond this year,
Continucare participated in the Operation Christmas Child
program founded by the Samaritan’s Purse Relief Organization.
This program brings joy and hope to children in desperate
situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes. Since
1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed,
shipped, and delivered across the globe. This year marked the
start of a company-wide effort at Continucare that included our
Corporate office, our call center facilities and our 18 medical
centers located throughout Florida.
In the true spirit of giving, our employees donated their time and resources to help gather
and deliver 551 shoe boxes filled and wrapped with holiday gifts that will be used to provide
presents this season to children around the world. With the help of our company’s officers,
managers, employees, administrators, staff and physicians, we truly have made a difference
in the lives of the children who need it the most.
We offer a heart-felt thanks to everyone who participated in thought and action this year
to make this a meaningful initiative that will continue for years to come. We invite you to
view some of the pictures that were taken during this "period of giving" and hope that it

Touching Lives With Our Best-of-Class Care
 Recently, Dr. Mark Stern had a unique opportunity to truly exemplify our Best-of-Class Care. Dr. Stern and his patients frequently exchange stories about their backgrounds and experiences during their visits to our Medical Center at Lutz. The special relationship that he has fostered with two of his patients that have been married for seventy years revolves around experiences they all share as native Chicagoans. One of the recurring themes of this sharing is Portillos's, a Chicago restaurant chain best known for their Chicago hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches and Italian sausage. All three of them love this classic Chicago food. Dr. Stern goes to Chicago every three months to visit his mother and always takes her to Portillo's for Saturday lunch. His patients don't go to Chicago as often so he tells them how good his hot dog and Italian beef sandwich were when he returns. On his most recent trip to Portillo's, he found a way to help keep their Portillo memories alive.
Upon Dr. Stern's return to Florida, he had the staff call these two special patients into our medical center and presented them with Portillo hats he brought back for them. When they put on these special hats, their faces lit up and they were ecstatic. Dr. Stern thought nothing of it as he commented that he was simply doing what he enjoys. Four Continucare Medical Centers Receive the Humana Five Star Award
 Humana recognizes four Continucare Medical Centers as winners of their prestigious "Humana Five Star Award".
This award is presented to Humana affiliated medical centers which have exemplified excellence in care. Humana surveys the
patients of those medical centers on their satisfaction with their primary care, service and medical care treatment.
The results are then carefully analyzed with the highest scoring medical centers being the recipients of this award.
At Continucare, we strive to uphold our belief in our Promise of Care and Ambassador Care Services, to all our patients.
Our nurses, physicians and staff are dedicated in taking the time to understand our patient's needs and ensuring they
receive the appropriate treatment, on a timely and regular basis. Therefore, by winning the Humana Five Star Award, it
further exemplifies our commitment to quality of care.
We are proud to announce that four Continucare Medical Centers have received this award: Continucare Kendall, Continucare Davie, Continucare Sunrise and Continucare Plantation.
